How the pricing works

The struck-through figure is the manufacturer's own list price for that product, not a higher number invented to make a discount look larger. Both figures include VAT, and both are what you would actually have been charged.

1. 01 The reduction is on the price you pay Both figures include VAT at the standard rate, so the saving shown is the saving on your card and not a pre-tax one.
2. 02 The guarantee is not reduced with the price A reduced line carries the same manufacturer's guarantee as a full-price one. The term for a particular product is printed on its own page.
3. 03 Trade does not stack on a sale price A reduced item is excluded from the automatic trade discount outright, so a trade account pays the sale price on it - which is lower than list minus ten per cent, or it would not be a sale.
4. 04 It lasts as long as the stock does These are clearing lines rather than a dated promotion. A size that sells through comes off the sale rather than being restocked at the reduced price.
