Black Chrome High Neck Basin Mixers

A black chrome high neck basin mixer has the height to pour into a basin that stands on top of the vanity, and there are six of them here from Artize and Jaquar. Black chrome is a dark finish that keeps a polished shine.

The makers name them differently. Artize calls the Confluence a tall boy basin mixer and the Lexa a joystick high neck basin mixer. Jaquar uses "extended mono" for the Florentine Prime, Kubix Prime and Opal Prime, and "high neck" for the Alive. All of them are taller versions of a basin mixer, so the label matters less than the measurements.

Handles differ too. Confluence and Alive are single lever, with one handle for both flow and temperature. Lexa has a joystick control. For the three Prime models, the product page shows the handle.

Points to check:

  • the height of the basin rim above the worktop, so the spout clears it
  • how far the spout reaches towards the centre of the bowl
  • that the tap hole in your basin or worktop suits the mixer
