A few checks make the choice easier. Count the tap holes in your basin, sink or bath first: a mono mixer uses one hole, while a wall mounted basin mixer is fixed to the wall rather than the basin. A hi-rise mixer is taller, which suits a countertop basin, so measure from the rim to anything above it, such as a mirror or cabinet. A freestanding bath mixer stands on the floor, which means its supply pipes have to come up beside the bath. Finally, compare your water pressure with each tap's specification.
